Once the valve starts popping, the best thing is to just change it. Then it works just fine. I think towards the end of my avent isis life (its dead now), the valves are old ones...the new models have a different valve..not star ones..Probably something to do with elasticity.Old stock = not so good material anymore?
No pressing all the way down is so not syiok....hahhaha

so wai mun,
hv u got ur pump? my personal exp i have 2 pumps, 1 ameda lactaline (batt oper) and manual medela harmony. I love both manual i use it at home and batt one i left at the office. manual is soooo reliable not depend on power supply, great to bring for outing and balik kampung. batt oper so convenience as it is more faster to express ur milk and it is double pumping so when let down happen both breast can be emptied faster compare to single pump. i can emptied both my breast 10-15 min only. so far got no prob with suction power also, it can be adjusted. oh and manual is usefull for tandem also. ![]() i have been exclusively b/feed for 10 mth and still going ![]() |

I think the Avent electric pump that Salwa mentioned earlier could be the avent electric single pump. Anyway, I owed quite a number of pump. might sell off some of it. any taker... :P That pump that I have currently :- 1. Ameda double pump 2. Lansinoh double pump (the design and function is exactly like Ameda) 3. Medela PISA 4. Avent Electric single pump 5. Avent Manual pump (if i were to convert my electric pump to manual then I have 2 avent electrci pump... ![]() 6. Pigeon Electric pump. |

brenda,
not addicted to pump lar... It's already expensive to be a CD addicts and it's way too expensive to be a breastpump addicts. hahaha... I have only use the avent manual. the medela manual from the PISA is still new in the pack... :P actually avent manual pump is my 1st pump. but after sometime i feel really tired using the manual pump so hubby offer to get the avent electric pump as he thought that since avent manual is a good pump then the electric should be good as well. but honestly, i really don't like the avent electric single pump. it pump really slow. i can pump better and faster with the avent manual pump. but since am a FTWM, it can be very unconvenient for me to pump at work with the manual pump as it's quite time consuming. thus I invest in the ameda dual pump in order to cut my pumping time and also I heard from other that their BM increased by a bit with ameda.. :P then I get the Lansinoh dual pump as my standby pump which I use at my parent house. as for the PISA and pigeon pump, it's hand down from my sister. That's the reason why i got so many pump. hahaha... Blossom & countessRita, not sure with others but for myself, i do think different pump do give different results. Medela PISA cycle is faster as compared to Ameda thus you can pump faster with Medela. ie : you may take 10 mins to pump with Medela as compared to 15 mins to Ameda. this is just a rough comparison though.. Then when I use Medela, i can have faster letdown compared to Ameda. But overall I can "yield" better when I use Ameda compared to Medela. Maybe other forumer can give their review? |
